Sacred Hill Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay 2013

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 20-Mar-2014
Full, even, bright light straw-yellow colour, pale on edge. The nose is fresh with intense and well-concentrated, cutting aromas of savoury citrus fruits and minerals with flint and nutty notes. Light-medium bodied, a clean and moderately deep core of citrus and yellow stonefruit flavours is interwoven with harmonious oak spice and nutty elements. The palate is even and gently mouthfilling, with freshness from balanced acidity. The wine is carried smoothly to a light, lingering finish with citrus and flinty lees nuances. This is a light, well-balanced and harmonious Chardonnay with subtle interest. Match with seafood, poultry and pork over the next 3-4 years. Fruit from the ‘Riflemans’ vineyard, fermented with French oak inserts to 13.0% alc., the wine undergoing batonnage. 17.0/20 Mar 2014 RRP $19.99
