Sacred Hill ‘HALO’ Marlborough Pinot Noir 2015

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 12-Apr-2016
Moderately dark ruby-red colour with slight purple hues, lighter on the rim. This has a full, broad and ethereal nose of ripe, dark red berry fruits along with nuances of dark plums and subtle whole berry fermentation confectionary and floral notes, unfolding some nutty oak elements. Medium-full bodied, the palate features softly mouthfilling flavours of sweetly ripe, dark red berry and plum fruits interwoven with nuances of spice and red florals. The fruit is supported by fine-grained, powdery tannins providing smooth textures and structure. The integrated acidity adds to the easy flow as the wine carries to a long, red fruited finish. This is a fine-textured, ripe Pinot Noir with an ethereal array of red berry and plum fruit. Match with poultry, pork, lamb and beef dishes over the next 4+ years. Hand-picked fruit from the Omaka Valley and Waihopi, fermented to 14.0% alc. and aged 10 months in French oak. 17.5-/20 Apr 2016 RRP $27.99
