Sacred Hill ‘HALO’ Marlborough Pinot Noir 2014

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 13-Apr-2015
Even, dark ruby-red colour, a little lighter on rim. The nose is softly concentrated with aromas of ripe, dark raspberries along with dark plums, and nuances of herb, liquorice and raspberry confectionary. Medium-full bodied, the mouthfeel is full and rounded, with well-packed flavours of juicy and fleshy raspberry and dark berry fruits entwined with some liquorice elements. The fruit richness is balanced by good tannin extraction and structure, and enlivened by bright, lively acidity. The palate has a harmonious presence and a positive core that carries the wine to a solid and rounded finish with lingering raspberry fruit nuances. This is a full and plush, sweet-fruited Pinot Noir with balanced structure and mouthfeel. Serve with lamb, beef and pork over the next 4+ years. Hand-picked fruit from the Omaka Valley, given a cold soak and fermented with a portion of whole bunches to 14.5% alc., the wine aged 12 months in French oak. 17.5+/20 Apr 2015 RRP $27.99
