Sacred Hill ‘HALO’ Marlborough Pinot Gris 2012

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 17-Jun-2013
Bright straw-yellow colour with hints of gold, lighter on rim. The bouquet is softly full with aromas of ripe yellow stonefruits with subtle pear, honeysuckle and flinty elements. Dryish to taste, light, savoury, yellow stonefruit flavours show with some lush honied notes and nutty detail. This has moderate depth with a fine-textured line and soft acidity, and the fruit is straightforward and up-front. Apricot and tropical fruit flavours grow and are carried to a dry, firm and crisp finish. This is a soft, dryish Pinot Gris with savoury stonefruit and honied flavours. Serve with antipasto and first courses over the next 2-3 years. Pinot Gris fruit from the ‘Hell’s Gate’ vineyard in the Wairau Valley, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc. and 2.7 g/L rs. 16.5/20 Jun 2013 RRP $24.99
