Sacred Hill ‘HALO’ Awatere Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 17-Jun-2013
Fruit from the Awatere Valley, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.5% alc. and 4.9 g/L rs. Bright, even, pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues. The nose is fresh and elegant with penetrating and deep aromas of yellow stonefruits, savoury grass and herbal elements, with wet stone and flinty notes. Dry and medium-bodied, light flavours of gooseberries, grassy and minerals show with a softly growing and mouthfilling richness. The palate has a dense core with racy acidity providing linearity and mouthwatering zestiness. The flavours are carried along with fine-textures to a sustained, fresh, savoury-grassy finish. This is a savoury, grassy flavoured Sauvignon Blanc with good richness allied to raciness. Match with salads, vegetables and Mediterranean-inspired fare over the next 2 years. 17.5-/20 Jun 2013 RRP $24.99
