S-Series ‘Brut’ Sparkling NV

Sparkling Wine from New Zealand - Other
Review Date : 21-Nov-2012
A blend of 60% Chardonnay, 22% Pinot Gris, 11% Riesling and 7% Viognier from Marlborough and Gisborne, fermented to 11.5% alc. and 9 g/L rs, the wine carbonated. The Chardonnay component underwent MLF and batonnage. Bright straw-yellow colour with pale golden hues. The bubbles fine and moderately persistent. This has a softly fresh bouquet with an intriguing array of aromatics featuring stonefruits, honey and the most subtle exotic florals. Dryish to taste, a soft-textured mousse carries delicate flavours of yellow stonefruits and florals through an easy-flowing palate. This has balanced, lively acidity underlining the flavours carrying through to a bright finish with good length. This is a soft, dryish sparkling with subtle and intriguing flavours. Serve as an aperitif and with canapés over the next 2 years. 16.5/20 Nov 2012 RRP $19.99
