Ruby Bay Nelson Pinot Noir 2013

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 06-Jun-2016
Light ruby-red colour with some depth, light garnet hues on the rim. This has a soft and light nose of cherry fruit intermixed with dried herbs and savoury earth notes, nutty oak and some lifted elements. Medium-bodied, soft and light flavours of savoury red berry and bitter cherry fruit show with notes of dried herbs and earthy elements. The mouthfeel is marked by soft tannin extraction and lively acidity. Some lifted and nutty oak notes unfold to add interest. This has a oft, positive core and line that leads to a dry, lively finish with better cherry notes. This is a soft and light Pinot Noir with cherry and earthy flavours along with some lift, and a light-textured, fresh mouthfeel. Match with tapas and antipasto over the next 3 years. A blend of 34% clone 5, 30% 115, 25% Abel and 11% 667, fermented with 20% whole berries to 13.0% alc., the wine aged 14 month in French oak barriques, 60% 1 and 2 y.o. 15.5/20 Jun 2016 RRP $25.00
