Ruby Bay Nelson Pinot Gris 2015

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 09-Jun-2016
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues and a suggestion of blush, pale edged. The nose is very fresh and tightly bound with pristine and clear aromas is white stonefruits along with subtly lifted white floral notes and steely minerals. Nuance of rose-petals, honeysuckle and spices emerge with aeration. Off-dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate features tightly bound and pure flavours of white stonefruits along with delicately sweet white floral and honeysuckle elements. Fresh mineral elements add detail. The mouthfeel is soft textured with integrated acidity. The alcohol grows in prominence to drive the wine, carrying the flavours to a light finish with some heat showing. This is a tight, crisp, off-dry Pinot Gris with a soft mouthfeel and some alcoholic drive. Serve with seafood and Asian cuisine over the next 2-3 years. Fruit from the Ruby Bay vineyard cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 14.0% alc., and approx. 10 g/L RS. 16.5/20 Jun 2016 RRP $22.00
