RR By Rochfort Rees Marlborough Pinot Gris 2014

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 14-Nov-2014
Bright, even, pale straw colour, lighter on rim. This has a softly concentrated and intense nose of lifted pear fruit interwoven with exotic musk with nuances of herbs, white florals and stonefruits. Off-dry to taste and medium-bodied, light and refreshing flavours of pears, exotic florals and musk are enhanced by spice notes. The fruit is up-front and juicy, and the mouthfeel rounded and soft in texture. The palate is underlined by mouthwatering acidity, and flows smoothly, the flavours receding gently on the finish. This is a soft and gently luscious, up-front, musky Pinot Gris with a light, clean finish. Serve with Asian and Middle-Eastern fare over the next 2-3 years. 100% Wairau Valley fruit cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. Winemaker: Glenn Thomas. 16.5+/20 Nov 2014 RRP $19.95
