RR By Rochfort Rees Marlborough Pinot Gris 2013

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 16-Sep-2013
Bright, very pale straw colour with pale green hues, near colourless on rim. The nose is fresh and up-front with white stonefruit and pear aromas lifted with florals and showing some mineral elements. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the flavours of white stonefruits and minerals are straightforward, quite open with volume and some breadth. The mouthfeel is dry in phenolic texture with moderate acidity in support, leading to a mouthwatering, dry finish. This is an up-front dry Pinot Gris with stonefruit and pear flavours and dry textures. Match with most first courses and Asian fare over the next 2-3 years. Wairau Valley fruit cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 4.5 g/L RS. 16.5/20 Sep 2013 RRP $19.95
