Rossendale ‘Reserve’ Canterbury Pinot Noir 2016

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 16-Jan-2018
Moderately deep garnet-hued red colour, lighter on the rim with suggestions of bricking. The nose is elegantly presented with firm and moderately concentrated aromas of dark-red berry fruit along with notes of raspberry liqueur entwined with dark herbs, some earthy notes and some spicy, nutty oak. Medium-bodied, the palate has light, easy and accessible flavours of red berry fruit, along with herbal and red floral elements. The fruit is up-front and uncomplicated with some sweetness. The mouthfeel possesses light, supple tannin presence and balanced. Lacy acidity. The flavours of spice emerge and carries to a light finish of red fruits, florals and herbs. This is a light, up-front and uncomplicated Pinot Noir with some fruit sweetness and accessibility, Serve with antipasto and tapas over the next 2 years. Fruit from the ‘Hill’ vineyard, Halswell, fully destemmed and fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine given oak contact. Vinified at Spring Creek Vintners. 16.0/20 Jan 2018 RRP $20.00
