Rossendale Marlborough Sparkling Sauvignon Blanc 2017

Sparkling Wine from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 04-Oct-2017
Bright, light straw-yellow colour, pale on the rim with a fine and persistent bead. The nose is soft with fresh aromas of gooseberry fruit melded with passionfruit notes, fresh herbs and some cut grass and nettle detail. Off-dry to taste, the palate has up-front flavours of gooseberries entwined with fresh herbs, subtle passionfruit notes, along with cut grass and hints of florals. The fruit forms a good core and the mouthfeel has a creamy effervescence and mousse, enlivened by refreshing, bright acidity. The wine flows along a light phenolic-textured line, leading to a light, dry finish of gooseberries and herbs. This is a refreshing, up-front off-dry sparkling Sauvignon Blanc with gooseberry, herb and nettle flavours, with a creamy mouthfeel and a light, dry, textured line. Serve as an aperitif, with seafood, salads and vegetables over the next 2 years. Marlborough fruit fermented to 12.5% alc. and 11 g/L RS, the wine carbonated. 15.5/20 Oct 2017 RRP $14.00
