Light ruby-red colour with some purple hues, paler on edge. The nose is fresh with moderately deep aromas of raspberry fruit melded with layers of fresh and dark herbs, along with a note of mineral reduction and hints of nutty oak. Medium-bodied, the palate has a core of softly concentrated flavours of raspberry fruit harmoniously entwined with dark and fresh herbs, revealing a little reduction and bitter suggestions. The fruit is supported by light grainy tannins and some underlying acidity, and carries to a light, soft-textured, dry finish with minerally reduction hints. This is a moderately concentrated Pinot Noir with soft flavours of raspberries and herbs and a light, textural grip. Match with poultry, pork, antipasto and Mediterranean fare over the next 2+ years. Made from Marlborough fruit with a small portion of Canterbury fruit included, fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine given oak contact. 15.5-/20 Jul 2017 RRP $16.00
