Rossendale Marlborough Chardonnay 2016

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 05-Jun-2017
Bright straw-yellow colour with green-gold hues, a little lighter on the edge. The nose is fresh and upfront with aromas of citrus and tropical fruits, along with nutty and spicy oak notes, along with toasty elements and buttery MLF detail. Medium-bodied, the palate is crisp and taut with good depth of citrus fruit melded with tropical fruits, the flavours enlivened by brisk, racy, slippery acidity. Flavours of spicy and nutty oak, toast and creamy, buttery MLF elements add interest. The flavours carry easily, enhanced by the acidity, leading to a zesty, lingering finish of citrus fruit and oak spice. This is a crisp and racy Chardonnay with citrus and tropical fruit along with spicy, toast oak and hints of butterscotch. Serve with grilled seafood and creamy poultry dishes over the next 2+ years. Marlborough fruit fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. with oak contact, the wine undergoing full MLF. 16.5+/20 Jun 2017 RRP $16.00
