Rossendale Marlborough Chardonnay 2014

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 14-Dec-2015
Bright, even, light straw-yellow colour with light gen hues at the heart. The bouquet is elegantly presented with a firm core of light, white stonefruit and citrus fruit aromas along with subtle creamy nuances and a layering of lemon-curd MLF. This has a refreshing steeliness underlining the aromatics. Dry and medium-full bodied, the palate is softly rich with up-front and gently mouthfilling flavours of white stonefruits and creamy lemon-curd MLF. The oaking is very subtle and harmonious with the fruit. The wine is moderately deep and quite accessible, the flavours supported by a light-textured phenolic line with balanced, enlivening acidity. The palate carries the creamy, MLF flavours to a light, soft finish. This is a soft, up-front, flavoursome Chardonnay with lemon-curd and cream, and fresh, easy palate. Match with seafood, poultry and pork over the next 2 years. Marlborough fruit barrel-fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged in oak. 15.5/20 Dec 2015 RRP $13.00
