Rockface Waipara Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 20-Nov-2013
Bright straw-yellow colour with slight, lighten golden hues, pale on rim. The nose is full with up-front, esters-lifted passionfruit and tropical fruit aromas with a fresh, but soft pungency. Dry to taste, fulsome and bold passionfruit flavours are lifted by fresh esters elements. The palate is forward, with richness and lusciousness, along with soft textures and slippery acidity, the mouthfeel rounded and approachable. Some alcoholic power drives the wine, and the phenolic textures carry the wine to a dry, lightly nuanced finish. This is a fresh, up-front, passionfruity Sauvignon Blanc with some power. Serve with salads and vegetables and Mediterranean fare over the next 2 years. Waipara fruit fermented to 13.5% alc. and 6 g/L RS, the wine aged on lees for 4 months. 17.5/20 RRP $17.99
