Rockface South Island Pinot Noir 2014

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - South Island
Review Date : 05-Oct-2015
Ruby-red colour with some depth, lighter on the edge. The nose is light and fresh with uncomplicated red cherry fruit entwined with delicate herbal notes, nuances of spice and lifted red florals. Medium-bodied, light, juicy and succulent flavours of red cherries are entwined with herbal nuances forming an up-front, elegant core. The palate features modest, fine-grained tannin extraction and fresh, lively acidity lending liveliness and energy. The wine flows easily, the fruit receding on the light, dry finish. This is a light, up-front red-cherry fruited Pinot Noir with a lively palate and modest extract. Match with fir-fleshed seafood, antipasto and poultry over the next 3 years. Predominantly Waipara Valley fruit fully destemmed and fermented to 13.0% alc., and aged in tank and barrel. 16.0/20 Oct 2015 RRP $17.99
