Rockburn ‘Tigermoth’ Central Otago Riesling 2012

Riesling from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 28-Jan-2013
Inspired by the German spatlese style. Fruit from Parkburn stainless-steel fermented to 8.6% alc. and 61.4 g/L rs with a TA 9.2 g/L and pH 2.84. Bright, pale straw-yellow colour, pale on edge. This has a delicate and refined nose with subtle aromas of white florals and lime fruits, quite mouthwatering, with minerally elements unfolding. Medium-sweet to taste, very fine, tightly concentrated and intensely penetrating flavours of limes, citrus zest and sherbet show, with zesty, racy acidity underlining the fruit line, providing considerable tension, energy and drive. Fruit extract and a very fine textural thread are carried through the palate, leading to a long, racy finish with attractive lime and sherbet notes. This is a tightly concentrated and racy medium-sweet Riesling with exotic fruit flavours. Serve as an aperitif, with Asian cuisine or fresh fruit. It will develop greater interest and complexity over the next 5-6 years. 260 cases made. 18.5/20 Jan 2013 RRP $33.00
