Rockburn Central Otago Pinot Gris 2012

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 28-Jan-2013
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with green-gold hues, pale on rim. The bouquet is fresh and elegant with bright, lively, savoury stonefruit aromas with hints of minerals, flint and honeysuckle that build in intensity and concentration. Medium-dry to taste and light-bodied, restrained and subtly rich flavours of white stonefruits and honeysuckle are enlivened by lacy and refreshing acidity. The mouthfeel is smooth and rounded with fine phenolic handling and delicate textures. The fruitiness has good drive and leads to a delicate finish with gentle richness and sweetness. This is an elegant off-dry Pinot Gris with a gentle richness. Match with Middle Eastern and Asian fare over the next 3-4 years. Fruit from Parkburn and Gibbston stainless-steel fermented on solids to 12.6% alc. and 10 g/L rs. 1175 cases made. 17.5/20 Jan 2013 RRP $26.00
