Rock Ferry ‘The Corners Vineyard’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 08-Oct-2015
Bright straw-yellow colour with light golden hues, lighter edged. This has a tightly bound nose of green capsicums, green stonefruits and lifted herbal elements along with a subtle layering of spicy, smoky oak. This has a fresh, steely intensity to the bouquet and unfolds secondary bean and asparagus suggestions with aeration. Dry to taste and medium-full bodied, the palate features a tight core of green capsicums, stonefruits and herbs, laced with spicy oak elements. The mouthfeel is crisp and refreshing and follows a grainy-textured, drying line. As the wine flows, savoury tropical fruit, bean and asparagus notes show and are carried to a dry, nutty finish with complexing oxidative hints. This is a tightly bound, dry-textured, oak-influenced Sauvignon Blanc beginning to develop secondary nuances. Serve with herb-marinated seafood, poultry and pork dishes. Hand-picked fruit from ‘The Corners’ vineyard, Rapaura, WBP and indigenous yeast barrel-fermented in seasoned oak to 13.5% alc., the wine aged on lees for 8 months in 8% new French oak barriques. Certified BioGro organic. 17.0+/20 Oct 2015 RRP $30.00
