Rock Ferry ‘The Corners Vineyard’ Marlborough Chardonnay 2013

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 06-Oct-2015
Bright, golden-hued straw-yellow colour with good depth, lighter on the rim. The nose is elegantly proportioned with rich, ripe citrus fruit aromas melded with creamy, nutty barrel-ferment notes and complex nutty, slightly oxidative, toasty elements. The nose has a softly concentrated core with an underlying steeliness. Medium-full bodied, the flavours of citrus and savoury yellow stonefruits are entwined with creamy oak, buttery MLF elements and complexing secondary nutty and toasty hints. The palate has a deep, concentrated, rounded core with integrated acidity that leads to an elegant, sustained, dry finish with savoury nutty and toasty flavours. This is an elegantly concentrated, rich and rounded Chardonnay with citrus, creamy and toasty flavours that are beginning to develop secondary interest. Match with roast pork over the next 3+ years. Hand-picked fruit from ‘The Corners’ vineyard, Rapaura, WBP and indigenous yeast fermented in a French oak cuve to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 9 months in 30% new French oak barriques, undergoing batonnage and 80% MLF. Certified BioGro organic. 18.0+/20 Oct 2015 RRP $45.00
