Rock Ferry ‘Orchard Vineyard’ Marlborough Pinot Blanc 2014

Pinot Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 21-Oct-2016
Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, near colourless on the rim. This has a fresh, tightly bound and slender nose with good depth of detailed white stonefruits along with subtle waxy and lanolin notes and suggestions of herbs and nuts. Dry to taste and medium-bodied the flavours of white florals and stonefruits are pristine, revealing nuances of nuts and minerals, and a little waxiness and lanolin. The palate has a good core and line, with very fine textures and soft, but refreshing acidity. This has up-front vitality, and the wine carries to a moderately long finish of white stonefruits and minerals. This is an elegant and clean, dry Pinot Blanc with clear stonefruit and floral flavours and waxy, lanolin notes with a fine-textured line. Serve as an aperitif, with seafood and tapas over the next 3+ years. Fruit from the ‘Orchard’ vineyard, Rapaura, hand-picked, WBP, and fermented in stainless-steel with 12% by indigenous yeast in seasoned puncheons to 13.7% alc. and 5.0 g/L RS. Certified BioGro organic. 17.5-/20 Oct 2016 RRP $30.00
