Rock Ferry Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2011

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 27-Jun-2013
Very pale straw colour with slight green hues. The nose is gentle and softly full with aromas of greengage and nectarine fruit revealing subtle secondary bean-like nuances and some spicy oak hints. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, flavours of green stonefruits feature on a soft, rounded and gentle palate. Delicate bean and nutty oak notes emerge to add some layers of interest. The mouthfeel is smooth flowing and very harmonious, with restrained acidity in the background, and leads to a moderately sustained, dry finish. This is a softy textured and harmoniously integrated Sauvignon Blanc with subtle detail and interest. Match with Mediterranean fare over the next 18 months. Fruit from ‘The Corners’ and ‘The Orchard’ sites, hand-picked and WBP, 70% indigenous yeast fermented in new and seasoned French oak to 12.7% alc. and 4.2 g/L rs, the wine aged on lees 8 months. Certified BioGro Organic. 17.5/20 Jun 2013 RRP $25.00
