Rock Ferry Marlborough Riesling 2012

Riesling from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 18-Dec-2013
Bright, light straw-yellow colour, lighter on rim. The nose is very clean and delicate with lime fruit aromas lifted with exotic florals, and honeysuckle, along with a savoury, fresh herb nuance. Off-dry to taste, positive flavours of mineral-infused lime fruit and thirst-quenching wet-stone notes show with an underlying tautness and concentration. The mouthfeel is lively with elevated, racy acidity providing a slippery flow through the palate. Slightly savoury citrus elements emerge, adding interest, and the flavours are carried by the acidity to a long, zesty, firm finish. This is a crisp and tight, off-dry Riesling with lime and minerally flavours and plenty of acid zest. Serve as an aperitif and with seafood over the next 4-5 years. Fruit from ‘The Corners’ vineyard, hand-picked and WBP, fermented to 12.0% alc. and 6.5 g/L RS, the wine aged 6 months on light lees. Certified BioGro organic. 17.5+/20 Dec 2013 RRP $29.00
