Rock Ferry Marlborough Pinot Gris 2012

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 18-Dec-2013
Pinot Gris fruit from the ‘Orchard’ and ‘The Corners’ vineyards, hand-picked and WBP, fermented partially with native yeasts, in stainless-steel barrels and seasoned puncheons to 13.5% alc. and 6.0 g/L RS. Bright, even, very pale straw-yellow colour. The bouquet is steely and refreshing with aromatic white stonefruit and floral notes that are intermixed with mineral and nutty nuances. This has purity and cut on bouquet. Off-dry to taste and medium-full bodied, gently lifted flavours of white stonefruits and white florals unfold, revealing honied and nutty detail and minerally elements. The mouthfeel is rounded and soft-textured with a gentle linear drive. The acidity is restrained and balanced, providing good underlying tension and freshness, leading to a bright, aromatic floral finish. This is a fresh, clean, aromatic and pure off-dry Pinot Gris with a soft liveliness. Match with Asian cuisine over the next 4+ years. Certified BioGro organic. 17.5+/20 Dec 2013 RRP $29.00
