Rock Ferry Marlborough Methode Traditionnelle Blanc de Blancs 2009

Sparkling Wine from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 21-Mar-2014
Hand-picked, WBP Chardonnay from ‘The Corners’ vineyard, Rapaura, fermented in seasoned oak and stainless-steel barrels to 12.8% alc., with full MLF and aging on full lees for 11 months, tiraged to age on lees for a further 4 years, the wine carrying 5 g/L after dosage. Bright, lemon-straw yellow colour with some depth, lighter on rim, with a persistent, fine bead. The bouquet is softly full with a well-concentrated core of white and yellow stonefruits, along with citrus fruit and nutty notes. The aromatics are integrated, the yeasty autolysis harmoniously melded. Dry to taste and elegantly presented, tight, savoury citrus fruit and barrel elements are entwined with bready autolysis, forming a good core of flavour. Refreshing and mouthwatering acidity combine with a fine mousse to provide cut and bite on the palate. Very fine phenolic textures carry the flavours to a delicate, nutty nuanced finish that lingers. This is a fine, savoury and complex nuanced Blanc de Blancs method with mouthwatering acidity and delicate textured line. Serve as an aperitif and with seafood or poultry over the next 4 years. Lot L9007. Certified BioGro organic. 18.0/20 Mar 2014 RRP $39.00
