Fruit from ‘The Corners’ vineyard, hand-picked, WBP and indigenous yeast fermented in cuve to start, then transferred to barrique for aging and MLF. 14.0% alc. Bright, even golden straw-yellow colour, paler on rim. The bouquet is fresh and lively with bright citrus and yellow stonefruit aromas, unfolding to reveal some savour secondary elements. Waves of nutty, toasty oak emerge, intermixed with creamy, butterscotch MLF and barrel-ferment complexities. Medium-bodied and elegantly presented, succulent and ripe citrus fruits and stonefruit flavours are harmoniously melded with complexing nutty, toasty oak and buttery elements. The mouthfeel is creamy and seamless and flows with smoothness and precision. A little alcoholic power is noticeable, and along with fine acidity, adds to the drive and linearity, leading to a very long, nutty, toasty finish. This is a seamless and smooth Chardonnay with complex citrus, creamy and toasty flavours. Serve with grilled seafood, poultry and pork over the next 4+ years.
