Rock Ferry Marlborough Botrytised Riesling 2013

Sweet Wine from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 21-Mar-2014
Bright, very full, light golden-yellow colour, pale on rim. The nose is very full and intense with concentrated aromas of citrus fruit, exotic florals, honey and marmalade, the bouquet decadently lush with musk and apricotty botrytis notes. Very sweet, this has a tightly concentrated core of rich and lush yellow florals, ripe citrus and musky fruit infused with wild honey, beeswax and marmalade botrytis flavours. The mouthfeel is unctuously rich and luscious, but enlivened by bright, lacy acidity. This has a firm linearity and excellent cut and tension, which leads to a very long, sustained finish of citrus and honey flavours. This is a decadent botrytised dessert Riesling with exotic honied flavours and bright acidity. Match with fruit and caramel-influenced desserts, or blue cheeses over the next 4-5 years. Hand-picked Marlborough fruit with 70% botrytis infection, fermented in stainless-steel barrel to 12.4% alc. and 180 g/L RS. Certified BioGro organic. (375 ml) 18.5+/20 Mar 2014 RRP $29.00
