Riverby Estate Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc/Semillon 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 02-Apr-2015
70% Sauvignon Blanc and 30% Semillon from the ‘Riverby’ vineyard, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.5% alc. and 3.8 g/L RS, the Semillon aged 8 months in new French oak prior blending. Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with light golden hues, pale on edge. The bouquet is fresh with firmly concentrated and intense aromas of gooseberry fruit entwined with grass, green stonefruits and spicy oak. Stalk and stem-like herbaceous elements lend refreshing, raw detail. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate features a concentrated core of grassy fruit with gooseberry, stalk and herbal notes, along with spicy oak. The mouthfeel is brisk and refreshing with lively and near-racy acidity. The wine follows a soft-textured line, leading to a sustained, zesty herbal finish. This Sauvignon/Semillon blend features a concentrated grassy core and a racy, refreshing mouthfeel. Match with herb-marinated white meat dishes over the next 2+ years. 17.0/20 Apr 2015 RRP $26.00
