Riverby Estate Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 20-Feb-2013
Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, very pale on rim. The nose is tight bound and fresh with bright, mouthwatering gooseberry fruit with nuances of passionfruit, fresh herbs and minerals, the aromatics clear-cut, pure and penetrating. Dry to taste, this is very elegant with refined flavours of English gooseberries, limes, nettles, herbs and citrus fruits. The palate is concentrated with a stylish textural line, enlivened by quenching acidity that contributes a delicious lusciousness. The flavours are carried to a very long, racy, fine-textured and dry finish. This is an elegant and concentrated Sauvignon Blanc with classical gooseberryish flavours. Match with seafood and salads over the next 2-3 years. Cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.9% alc. and 4.2 g/L rs, the wine aged on lees. 18.0+/20 Feb 2013 RRP $20.00
