Riverby Estate Marlborough Pinot Gris 2013

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 02-Apr-2015
Bright, very pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, and a suggestion of blush. The nose is fresh with very delicate aromas of white and yellow stonefruits, pears, honeysuckle and exotic florals. Mouthwatering mineral nuances add to the freshness and poise. Off-dry to taste and medium-bodied, light but up-front flavours of yellow stonefruits, honeysuckle and florals feature on impact. The palate has good immediate presence with soft textures and gentle acidity. The wine follows a delicate, vinous line, and the flavours become slender as it carries to a light, softly rounded finish. This is a light and soft off-dry Pinot Gris with delicate stonefruit and honied flavours. Serve with subtly spicy Asian cuisine over the next 2+ years. Fruit from the ‘Riverby’ vineyard fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 8 g/L RS, the wine spending 11 months on lees. 16.5-/20 Apr 2015 RRP $21.00
