Riverby Estate Marlborough Noble Riesling 2013

Sweet Wine from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 06-Apr-2015
Botrytised Riesling from the ‘Riverby’ vineyard, fermented in stainless-steel to 10.0% alc., 206 g/L RS and pH 3.55. Bright, light golden-yellow colour with some depth. The nose is full and voluminous with softly packed and dense aromas of ripe citrus fruits and orange blossom, unfolding waves of apricots and tropical fruits, exotic jasmine, tangerine marmalade, honey and talc botrytis. Very sweet to taste, intensely concentrated and opulent flavours of citrus fruits, apricots, honey and marmalade are harmoniously entwined with musk and talc botrytis. The succulence and unctuousness are balanced and cut by fine, lacy acidity and lifted by some volatility. The wine flows smoothly with plenty of drive, carrying to a very rich an decadent finish of honey, tangerines and musky botrytis. This is a rich, concentrated and harmonious Riesling dessert wine with exotic citrus fruits and talc botrytis. Match with fruit desserts, crème caramel and blue cheeses over the next 5-6+ years. (375 ml) 18.5/20 Apr 2015 RRP $35.00
