Riverby Estate Marlborough Noble Riesling 2011

Sweet Wine from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 04-Jun-2013
Hand-picked botrytised fruit from selected rows fermented to 10.3% alc. and 219 g/L rs, TA 9.8 g/L and pH 3.36. Full, even, golden-orange colour with mahogany hues. This has a very full, rich and densely packed bouquet with a complex array of aromas of ripe citrus fruits, marmalade, crystalized tropical fruits and caramel, intermixed with massive talc and lozenge botrytis and notes of ‘fly-tox’ and a hint of volatility. Very sweet to taste, rich and decadent flavours of ripe oranges and tangerines, marmalade and apricot are infused with opulent lozenge and musky talc botrytis characters. The mouthfeel is near unctuous and opulent, the acidity balanced and sufficiently refreshing for poise. The palate richness is carried to a very long and luscious finish with marmalade and caramel nuances. This is a fulsome and opulent, fully-botrytised Riesling dessert wine to serve with crème caramel, crème brulee and steamed puddings over the next 4-5+ years. (375 ml) 19.0+/20 Jun 2013 RRP $35.00
