Riverby Estate Marlborough Dry Riesling 2011

Riesling from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 04-Jun-2013
Bright, very pale straw-yellow colour with some green hues, lighter on rim. The bouquet is elegantly proportioned and intense with aromas of lemony fruit, minerals, subtle and savoury wet-stone reductive nuances and a hint of toastiness. Dry to taste, the fruit flavours are elegant and positive, with approachable presence. Lime and lemon, with savoury nuances of minerals and honey flow smoothly along a soft-textured palate line. Acid brightness underlines and enlivens the expression. The fruit and phenolics are attractively interwoven with an open mattiness, and the palate leads to a soft, dry, finish with good length. This is a dry Riesling with soft textures and bright fruit. Serve with seafood and Asian-inspired fare over the next 5-7 years. Hand-picked fruit from 21 y.o. vines with no botrytis, fermented to 11.8% alc. and 7.1 g/L rs, TA 8.5 g/L and pH 2.86. 18.0/20 Jun 2013 RRP $20.00
