Riverby Estate Marlborough Dry Riesling 2009

Riesling from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 04-Jun-2013
Hand-picked fruit from 19 y.o. vines with no botrytis, fermented to 12.7% alc. and 3.5 g/L rs, TA 6.7 g/L and pH 3.08. Bright, very pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, lighter on edge. This has a very fine, tight and taut bouquet with concentrated aromas of fresh lime and lemony fruit and secondary toasty elements entwined with minerals. There is a zesty, steeliness to the expression. Dry to taste, this is tightly concentrated with lively drive and an underlying acid succulence to the fruit. An array of flavours with citrus fruits, minerals and toast flow with a fine graininess to the texture, the acidity providing balance and tension. The palate is carried to a lingering finish with toasty interest and acid freshness. This is a fresh, lively dry Riesling beginning to exhibit some toasty interest. Serve as an aperitif or with antipasto over the next 4-5 years. 18.0+/20 Jun 2013 RRP $20.00
