River Farm Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 24-Jun-2014
Bright, very pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, pale edged. The nose is full and evenly expressed with gooseberry and grassy fruit aromas, and a suggestion of secondary bean nuance interwoven with chalky, minerally notes. Dry to taste and medium-bodied the light, fresh and gentle fruit aromas of gooseberries and cut grass show with some sweetness and lusciousness, building with some depth. A soft, chalky, textured core carries the wine with fresh, lacy, lively acidity to a light, sweet-fruited, lingering finish. This is a light, gooseberry and grassy flavoured Sauvignon Blanc with a chalky freshness. Serve with seafood, salads and vegetables and goats cheese over the next 2 years. Fruit in equal portions from ‘O’Dwyers Farm’, Rapaura and the ‘Long Lane’ vineyard, Awatere, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc., the wine aged on light lees. 16.5+/20 Jun 2014 RRP $18.00
