River Farm Marlborough Pinot Gris 2013

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 24-Jun-2014
Bright, even, very pale straw colour. This has an elegant and fresh nose with white and yellow stonefruit aromas lifted by subtle exotic floral notes, and tempered by steely, minerally nuances. Off-dry to taste and medium-light bodied, delicately sweet fruit flavours of white and yellow stonefruits are interwoven with exotic florals, forming a soft core. The mouthfeel suggests a degree of unctuousness providing roundness to the palate, and the flow is underlined by a very fine-textured palate line with soft acid energy. The flavours lead to a soft, gently exotic moderately sustained finish. This is a light, gently exotic, off-dry Pinot Gris with a fine-textured line. Match with Asian fare over the next 2+ years. Fruit from the ‘O’Dwyers Farm’ vineyard, Rapaura, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.2% alc. and 6.5 g/L RS. 17.0/20 Jun 2014 RRP $18.00
