Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, near colourless on the rim. This has a finely proportioned and refined nose with aromas of ripe, pungent passionfruit interwoven with tropical fruits, fresh herbs and nuances of mouthwatering minerals. Dry to taste and light-medium bodied, the palate features a tightly concentrated core of vibrant and lively passionfruit and tropical fruit flavours, unfolding gooseberry and fresh herbal notes. The fruit and mouthfeel is enlivened by brisk, racy acidity and the wine is bright and mouthwatering, following a very fine, dry-textured line. The palate leads to a long, thirst-quenching finish of passionfruit and herbs. This is a racy and vibrant Sauvignon Blanc with refined flavours of passionfruit and fine dry textures driven by brisk acidity. Serve with seafood, salads and vegetables over the next 2+ years. Fruit from the Richmond Plains vineyard, tank-fermented, 30% with indigenous yeasts to 12.5% alc. and 4.0 g/L RS, some batches given extended skin contact, the wine aged 5 months on lees with some batonnage.
