Richmond Plains Nelson Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 07-Jan-2015
Bright straw-yellow colour with light lemon-green hues on rim. The nose is fresh and youthfully elegant with cooler spectrum aromas of gooseberries, grass and nettles, along with some white floral lift and suggestions of chalky minerals. This has good depth and intensity. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the fruit is tightly bound with a core of grassy, gooseberry fruit, nettle and lantana flavours. The palate features a fine-textured line with a little rich, unctuousness balanced by fine acid cut. The phenolics emerge to carry through to a soft, dry, thirst-quenching finish. This is a tight dry Sauvignon Blanc with gooseberry and grassy flavours and a fine-textured palate. Serve with seafood, salads and vegetables over the next 2 years. Fruit from the ‘Richmond Plains’ vineyard, fermented in stainless-steel to 12.6% alc. and 3.2 g/L RS, the wine undergoing 3 months batonnage. Vegan wine. Certified Asurequality organic, the fruit certified Demeter biodynamic. 612 cases made. 17.0/20 Jan 2015 RRP $21.99
