Richmond Plains Nelson Pinot Noir 2015

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 10-Nov-2016
Bright, even, ruby-red colour with slight purple hues, lighter on the edge. This has a tight, refined nose with good depth and intensity of red berry fruits, dark-red florals and subtle layers of fresh and dark herbs, along with some nutty, resiny oak elements. Red liquorice and mineral aromas emerge with aeration. Medium-full bodied, the palate is elegantly proportioned and tightly bound with intense flavours of red cherry and berry fruit entwined with floral and herbal nuances, along with red liquorice and nutty oak hints. The tannins are finely extracted and flowery, providing refined grip and structure, and the acidity is balanced and integrated. The wine carries to an elegant, lingering finish of cherries and liquorice. The is an elegant Pinot Noir with good intensity of dark-red cherry and berry fruit on a finely-structured palate. Match with duck, pork, lamb and beef dishes over the next 5 years.
