Richmond Plains Nelson Pinot Gris 2013

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 03-Jun-2014
Bright straw-yellow colour with a faint blush and light golden hues, pale on edge. The nose is tight with fresh and youthful aromas of white stonefruits lifted by subtle exotic floral notes, the bouquet expressed with a steely purity. Dry to taste, tightly bound flavours of white stonefruits and minerals form a fine, firm core, revealing some succulence and richness. The mouthfeel is crisp and lively, and the palate follows a soft-texture phenolic line driven by alcoholic power, carrying the flavours to a light, dry finish. This is a crisp, tight, linear, dry Pinot Gris with some subtle succulence. Serve with antipasto, tapas and most white meat dishes over the next 3-4 years. Hand-picked fruit, 40% barrel-fermented by indigenous yeasts, to 14.5% alc. and 4.7 g/L RS, the wine aged 8 months in 7% new hogsheads, undergoing batonnage. Vegan wine and certified BioGro organic. 16.5+/20 Jun 2014 RRP $24.00
