Richmond Plains Nelson Chardonnay 2011

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 22-Oct-2012
Bright straw-yellow colour with green-golden hues, pale on rim. The bouquet is soft and full with an aromatic amalgam with up-front citrusy fruit interwoven with mealy, biscuitty, nutty notes and oak nuances. Medium-full bodied, tightly concentrated and intense flavours of steely citrus fruits and yellow plums are enlivened by zesty acidity. The oaking is very sensitive and in the background with spiced nutty elements. The depth of fruit provides a good core and is driven with slightly drying, phenolic textures that lead to a very long and sustained finish with crisp acidity and spicy oak elements. This is an elegantly concentrated Chardonnay with citrusy fruit focus, lively acidity and a dry textural line. Serve with seafood and poultry over the next 4+ years. Fruit certified Biogro organic and Demeter biodynamic. Hand-picked, WBP, and 40% indigenous yeast fermented to 13.5% alc. in French oak barrels and tanks with staves. Vegan wine. 18.0-/20 Oct 2012 RRP $19.99
