Richmond Plains Nelson Blanc de Noir 2013

Rose from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 10-Jan-2014
Mariafeld clone Pinot Noir fruit from 23 y.o. ‘Richmond Plains’ vines, hand-picked on a Fruit/Seed day, WBP and cool-fermented in tank to 12.7% alc. and 8.6 g/L RS. Bright, pale blush colour with straw hues, lighter on rim. The nose is fresh and attractively aromatic with lifted white and yellow stonefruits along with a suggestion of red florals, honeysuckle and minerals. Off-dry and medium bodied, lush and juicy, up-front flavours of white stonefruits are enriched by honey notes. Fresh, lacy acidity enlivens the palate and provides a slippery mouthfeel and fine line. The flavours flow smoothly with good tension and energy, leading to a lingering finish of stonefruits and minerals. This is a lively and smooth Blanc de Noirs with a rich and juicy palate of stonefruit and honied flavours. Serve as an aperitif and with Asian cuisine over the next 2-3 years. Vegan wines and certified BioGro organic. 17.5-/20 Jan 2014 RRP $23.00
