Ribbonwood Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 10-Sep-2013
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues. The bouquet is softly fresh with an amalgam of gooseberry and passionfruit aromas, and some nettle-like cooler spectrum notes. Very dry to taste and medium-bodied, the flavours of gooseberries, passionfruit, herbs and nettles are carried by a firm-textured line. The fruit has some lusciousness, enhanced by good acidity, with the phenolics prevailing, resulting in a dry mouthfeel, which carries through to a lingering finish of tropical fruits and wet stones. This is a very dry, textural Sauvignon Blanc with cooler gooseberry and passionfruit flavours. Serve with Mediterranean salads and vegetable dishes over the next 2 years. Fruit from selected vineyards in the Wairau Valley fermented to 13.0% alc. and 4 g/L RS. 17.0-/20 Sep 2013 RRP $17.00
