Ribbonwood Marlborough Pinot Noir 2016

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 20-Jan-2019
Light ruby-red colour with some depth, paler on the edge with slight purple hues. The nose is softly presented with light aromas of dark-red cherry fruit entwined with subtle notes of herbs and red florals, unfolding nuances of spice and some nutty oak. Medium-bodied, the palate is light and slender with flavours of red cherry fruit melded with light, fresh, herbal elements along with a gentle amalgam of spice, nuts and red florals. The fruit forms an elegant core which is supported by light, supple, fine-grained tannins with soft acidity. The flavours are accessible and easy, and flow to a light finish. This is an accessible, light and slender Pinot Noir with cherry and herb flavours along subtle spice and nutty elements on a light, supple palate. Serve with antipasto and tapas, and with tuna or salmon over the next 2-3 Years. Fruit from 6 Wairau Valley sites fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine aged 8 months in 10% new French oak. 16.5/20 Dec 2018 RRP $20.00
