Ribbonwood Marlborough Pinot Gris 2011

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 23-Jan-2012
Bright, very pale straw colour, pale on edge. The nose is soft and full with yellow stonefruit and ripe pear aromas, along with a little flintiness. Off-dry to taste, subtle, classical Pinot Gris fruit flavours of pears show, clean and clear, with some alcohol noticeable adding to the vinosity. A little phenolic texture is present and provides the palate with drive, and the wine has a finish with moderate length. Fermented to 14.0% alc. and 5.5 g/L rs, around 10% wild ferment in barrels with lees stirring. A clear and simply presented Pinot Gris to serve with antipasto and tapas over the next 2 years. 16.0/20 Jan 2012 RRP $19.95
