Redmetal Hawke’s Bay Cabernet Franc Rosé 2016

Rose from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 04-Oct-2016
Pale salmon-pink colour with some depth, and lighter purple hues on the rim. The nose is very fresh and elegantly concentrated with firm aromas of strawberries, cranberries and pomegranate with subtle notes of red florals, herbs and mouthwatering flinty lees elements. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, this has a gently rich and succulent fruit flavours of strawberries and cranberries entwined with herbs and red florals, and nuances of fruit pastille confectionary. This has an elegant core and line with fine, soft textures and integrated acidity lending background tension and energy. The wine carries to a soft, light finish of strawberries, herbs and fruit pastilles. This is an elegant, subtly juicy, strawberry and herb-flavoured dry rosé with a soft and fine mouthfeel. Serve as an aperitif and with canapes over the next 2 years. 100% Cabernet Franc, given 6 hours skin contact and cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 14.0% alc. and 4.4 g/L RS, the wine aged 5 months on gross lees. 17.5-/20 Oct 2016 RRP $19.00
