Redmetal Hawke’s Bay Cabernet Franc Rosé 2012

Rose from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 18-Oct-2012
100% Cabernet Franc from the ‘Redmetal' vineyards fermented with 24 hours on skins to 12.0% alc. and 3.5 g/L rs. Light cerise-pink colour with slight purple hues, pale on rim. The bouquet is tight and elegantly presented with aromas of fresh redcurrants along with sappy herbal notes and earthy interest, very Cabernet Franc in expression. Dry to taste and light-medium bodied, bright fruit flavours of redcurrants, watermelon, herbs and earth are enlivened by crisp acidity. This has good depth at the core and a fine textural thread underlines the palate. This is racy and firm, and lively strawberry and herb nuances linger on a dry finish. This is a fresh, dry, cool, redcurranty rosé with crisp acidity. Serve with antipasto and Mediterranean-inspired salads on sunny days over the next 2 years. 16.0+/20 Oct 2012 RRP $17.00
