Redmetal Bridge Pa Triangle Hawke’s Bay Syrah 2017

Syrah from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 20-Jun-2018
Moderately dark, deep, ruby-red colour, lighter on the rim with purple hues. The nose is finely presented, a little slender, with soft aromas of raspberry fruit entwined with white pepper, unfolding some black pepper and blackberry notes, dark-red florals and hints of herbs. The aromatics grow in depth to form an elegantly concentrated core. Medium-bodied, the palate has an up-front, juicy palate with flavours of dark raspberries and white pepper with notes of dark herbs, unveiling red florals and hints of spice. The fruit is open and accessible, and forms a softly concentrated heart with light tannin extraction that firms up on the back palate. The acidity is integrated and the wine carries to a light finish. This is an up-front, elegant and accessible, juicy Syrah with raspberry and white pepper flavours, along with spices. Match with antipasto and Mediterranean fare over the next 3 years. A blend of 88% Syrah and 12% Merlot, fully destemmed and fermented to 12.0% alc., the wine given oak contact. 17.0/20 Jun 2018 RRP $24.00
