Red Deer Marlborough Sounds Viognier 2010

Viognier from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 23-Jan-2013
Fruit fermented with 10% in barrel to 13.5% alc. and 4 g/L rs, the wine spending 9 months on lees. Bright, full and even, pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues. The bouquet is soft and full with light, harmoniously present aromas of yellow florals and hints of honeysuckle. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, moderately intense flavours of citrus zest and apricots show with clarity. This is rounded in mouthfeel with good alcohol drive. The acidity is prominent, but enlivens, and adds to the balance and harmony. The flavours flow smoothly to a dry, lacy finish. This is a soft and clear Viognier with citrussy fruit and good balance. Match with seafood, poultry and pork dishes over the next 2 years. 15.5-/20 Jan 2013 RRP $25.00
